Ray F. Gustafson, 74 of Litchfield, formerly of Belgrade, died Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud. A celebration of his life will be 2:00 p.m. May 29, 2021 at the Kadishack in Brooten.
Ray Francis Gustafson was born on December 27, 1946 in Willmar, the son of Edwin and Elsie (Oakleaf) Gustafson. He grew-up in Georgeville and attended Belgrade High School. On February 10, 1966, he entered the U.S. Army where he served his country during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on Jan 30, 1969, and returned home shortly before moving to Colorado where he worked construction. While living in Colorado, he met his wife, Leona. They made their in Golden, Colorado where he worked as a hoist man in a uranium mine. In 1978, they moved back to Georgeville where he worked at Windy Hill and as a farm hand throughout the area. Leona died in March of 1980. Ray moved to Litchfield as of late due to health concerns. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to play cribbage.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Angela (Michael) Bell and granddaughter, Shandearan Bell. He is preceded in death by his wife, Leona.
