Renee C. (Holmin) Hanson

Renee C. Hanson (Holmin) 79 of Willmar formerly of New London, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at Bethesda Grand in Willmar. A memorial service with be announced at a later date. Arrangements are with the Harvey Anderson and Johnson Funeral Home in New London. www.hafh.org   

Renee C. Hanson was born on March 23, 1947, in Hennepin County, daughter of Delbert and Donnabelle (Peterson) Holmin.   She was married in 1974 to James Hanson.  They had a successful dry-cleaning and carpet cleaning business in the Twin Cities for many years before the Sportsmen’s Inn in Cosmos. Renee was also an entrepreneur and worked at tending the bar and restaurant at the American Legion. She made New London her home for 52 years. 

Renee was affectionately called "The Warden" by her siblings. She loved collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia and country music. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and the staff at Bethesda, where she lived the past eight years.

Renee is survived by eight siblings, Russell Holmin of Nevis, Ronald (Cathy) Plaster of Ocala, FL, Robert Holmin of Ironton, Roger Holmin (John Ritter) of Lebanon, TN, Rita (Phil) Boyer of Pensacola, FL, Robin Kelley of Jones, OK, Rhonda Delay of Oklahoma City, OK, and Roselle Holmin (Kelly Spain) of Liberty, TN; step-children, Cheryl (Chuck) Hendricks of Plymouth,  Daryl Hanson of Brooklyn Park,  Lori Thompson of Brooklyn Park, Steven Hanson of New Hope and Connie (Rick) Ford of Ham Lake.

Renee was preceded in death by her husband, James in 1987; parents, Delbert Victor and Donnabelle Joan Holmin; daughter, Tamara Holmin; sisters-in-law, Marge Holmin and Joanne Holmin and brother-in-law, Clyde Kelley.
