Richard Lee Moore

Richard Lee "Dick" Moore, 71,of Willmar, died peacefully at home. His graveside service will be at 12:00 pm, Thursday, May 14th at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Fergus falls. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home in Willmar.

Richard "Dick" Moore was born on June 8, 1954, to Burton and Colleen Moore in Minneapolis. Because of his father's work, the family moved frequently during Dick's younger years. He eventually settled in Redwood Falls, where he graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1972.

During high school, Dick was a talented athlete who especially enjoyed golfing and playing baseball. He received a full scholarship to Minneapolis College of Art and Design, but an automobile accident changed the course of his life. Dick continued to pursue his art interest, but  had to transition from being a right-handed artist to a left-handed one. He created many, many abstract paintings during the next 50 years.

In 1979, Dick opened Moore's Art Store in Alexandria, Minnesota, where he did custom framing. Dick's legacy is his abstract paintings and his appreciation for rock and roll, possessing hundreds of rock and roll CDs.

Dick was a man of faith. He lived his life aware of 'one day at a time.' He knew his Lord, and he knew where he was ultimately going in the end. He had a close bond with his parents. Above all, he enjoyed time with his family, including his close cousins.

Dick's family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff throughout the years at Supportive Lifestyles of Willmar for their heartfelt care, kindness, and friendship for the past 26+ years.

Dick is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Carolyn Borow Moore, as well as their adult children, Satchel and Harper Moore. He also leaves behind his devoted cousins Gordy and Bonnie Stock, as well as his close Hanson cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
