Richard Warburton, 68, of Willmar, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024, at Sterling Park Nursing Home in Waite Park.
His memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 6, at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Dumont. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home in Willmar, www.hafh.org.
Richard William Warburton was born October 7, 1956, in Graceville, Minnesota, to Robert and Lois (Fridgen) Warburton. He grew up in Dumont and attended Wheaton Area Public Schools, graduating in 1975. On August 1, 1981, he married Pamela Goergen in Milbank, SD. They made their home in Ortonville, where they raised their five children. They later divorced.
In 1994, Richard found his calling and obtained his CNA degree from Ridgewater College. He moved to Willmar in 1999 and worked for 27 years at a Nursing Assistant, retiring from Bethesda in 2021 due to his declining health. He loved taking care of his patients and was loved by them.
Richard was a very loving and caring person and loved spending time with his family. He loved drawing, writing, and telling stories. He also loved taking care of others and especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his five children: Brittania (Mike) Day of Ortonville, Andrew Warburton of Waite Park, Tristan (Emily) Warburton of Biddeford, ME, Ethan (Jessica) Warburton of Alexandria, and Brooklyn (Jameson) Rowe of Waseca; his ex-wife: Pamela Goergen; eighteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings: Renee (Doug) Jorschumb of Willmar, Gary (Karen) Warburton of Avon, John Warburton of Wheaton, Tom Warburton of West Fargo, ND, Kathleen (Bill) Caskey of Raymond, and Lori (Tim) Callahan of Edgeley, ND; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters: Patricia Warburton and Jeanne (Gary) Tobeck.
