Rickie C. Olson

Rickie C. Olson, 68, of Belgrade died Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.  A visitation will be held on Friday from 10-11:00 am at Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade followed by a graveside service at Colfax Cemetery in rural New London at 11:30 am.  www.hafh.org

Rickie Craig Olson was born on December 25, 1951, in Willmar, MN, the son of Gordon and Alaine (Bengtson) Olson.  He grew up on the family farm in the Colfax Township where he attended a small country school.  After the 8th grade, Rick went on to Belgrade High School where he graduated with the Class of 1970. 

After high school, Rick began working at Jenni-O, then began welding at Trinity Steel in New London.  He worked there for many years then worked at Master Mark in Paynesville before retiring in 2015 from Trinity Industries in Belgrade.  On January 7, 1983, Rick was united marriage to Pat Peterson.  They later divorced.  On September 27, 1986, Rick married Carol Keller at Crow River Lutheran Church.  Carol passed away on December 15, 2011. 

Rick was a member of the Crow River Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed shaking dice and drinking coffee at the Crow Café, watching the Twins, farming, hunting, horses, his dogs, and spending time with his nephews and nieces. 

Rick is survived by his special nieces and nephews, Nicole (Casey) Rood, Kyle Olson, Lyle Olson, Lisa (James) Lundberg-Vogelpohl, and Billy Lundberg Jr.; step-sisters, Sharon Marotte and Linda Toms, and many other nieces and nephews.

Rickie was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Edna Olson; brothers, Bud, Rodney, and Robyn; sister, Gloria Ann (Jim) Fremberg and their children, Patty, David, and Douglas.
