Robert Morin, 90, of Willmar, died Friday, April 22, 2022, at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar. His memorial service will be at 11:00 am, Friday, July 15th at Word of Faith Family Church in Willmar with a visitation starting at 10:00 am. Robert Glenn Morin was born December 30, 1931, in Burke, South Dakota, to Anthony and Hazel (Stevick) Morin. His family later moved to Georgeville, MN and Bob graduated from Belgrade High School. In 1952, he was inducted into the U.S. Army and served in Germany during the Korean War. On April 6, 1953, he married Alice Peterson at First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake. They made their home in Sunburg, where they operated Bob’s Corner Store until 1975. They later moved to Lake Andrew and to Willmar in 1992. Bob worked as a carpenter for many years until his retirement at the age of 73.
Bob was a member of Word of Faith Family Church in Willmar and a former member of the Willmar V.F.W. He enjoyed fishing, trapping and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; two daughters, Vicki Asche of Alexandria, MN, and Sheree (Chris) Shipley of Wyoming, IL; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Patsy Netland; two sisters-in-law, Joanie Morin and Jan Morin; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven Morin; a son-in-law, David Asche; and three brothers, Lloyd Morin, Don Morin, and Merle Morin.
