Roger G. Clark

Roger G. Clark, 75, of Litchfield, formerly of New London, died Friday, May 29th at Meeker Manor in Litchfield.  His memorial service will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, August 4th at Johnson Funeral Home in New London.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial with military honors will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in New London. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home.  www.hafh.org

Roger Gordon Clark was born on August 4, 1950, to Robert and Elenore (Corneliuson) Clark in Belgrade, Minnesota. He grew up in the New London area and graduated from New London-Spicer High School in 1968. Following graduation, Roger enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served until 1971. After his military service, he attended Willmar Vo-Tech to study automotive mechanics.

Roger worked for several businesses before opening Clark's Auto with his brother, Rick. Together, they operated the business in New London for 43 years. Roger retired in 2023.

On November 25, 1994, Roger was united in marriage to Cynthia Axtell. They made their home in New London and shared many happy years together until Cynthia's passing in 2015.

Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sharing a good joke with family and friends. One of the highlights of his life was a month-long camping trip to Canada that he and Cynthia enjoyed together. He truly loved working as a mechanic and spent much of his time in the shop doing what he enjoyed most.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Heather Berth; stepson, Casey Korsmo; grandchildren, Payton, Paige, and Bryce; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Diane Hanson, Rick (Tracy) Clark, and Becky (Jeff) Rosengren; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia; stepsons, Tommy and Rodrick; his parents, Robert and Elenore Clark; and his nephew, Ryane Clark.
