Roger Charles Lippert, 92, of Willmar, died Thursday, January 23rd at his home. His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, February 1st at Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to his service. Burial will be at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Olivia. Roger Charles Lippert was born May 18, 1932, on the family farm in Roseland Township, Kandiyohi County, MN to Louis and Lillian (Tatting) Lippert. He attended grade school in Blomkest District #64 until the 8th grade, then graduated from Olivia High School in 1950.
Roger served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war in Erlangen, Germany from January 1953 and was Honorably Discharged on December 1954.
Roger married Dorothy Ann Eiler at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bird Island MN on November 23, 1957. They were blessed with five sons: Douglas, Bradley, Daniel, Brian and Dean.
Roger farmed with his two brothers in the Blomkest area until 1981 and continued farming until 1990 when he retired and moved to Willmar. Roger was an active member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church serving as an usher until moving to Willmar.
Roger enjoyed his family, playing cards, playing pool, bowling, watching the Vikings and Gophers, taking care of the lawn and blowing snow.
Roger is survived by his children: Doug (and Vicki) Lippert of Blomkest, Daniel (and Betsy) Lippert of Willmar, Brian Lippert of Willmar, Dean (and Dawn) Lippert of Blomkest, daughter-in-law, Karen (and Fiancé, Paul Erickson) Lippert of Spicer; seven granddaughters: Amy, Tonya, Amber, Rebecca, Ashley, Kelly and Hannah; two grandsons: Ben and Seth; great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Olivia, Carson, Charli, Tate and Aria; sister-in-law: Mary Lippert of Olivia; his brothers-in-law: Frank Lindell of Cold Spring, Dick (Norma) Eiler of Bird Island, Mert (special friend, Marion Rolloff) Gustad of New Ulm; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy (2013); son, Bradley (2017); daughter-in-law, Tracey (2015); brothers: Don, Dick, Bob, Tom; and sisters: Dorothy Dobmeier, Alice Millerbernd and Pat Thein.
