Russell Lee Newville

Russell Lee Newville, 66, of Willmar, died Tuesday, August 11th at his home. His visitation will be 1-3:00 pm, Tuesday, August 18th at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar with a Celebration of Life service starting at 3:00 pm. www.hafh.org

Russell Lee Newville was born May 10, 1960, to William and Doris (Sunken) Newville in Fairmont. He was baptized at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont and attended Fairmont Elementary School. In 1972, Russell and his family moved to Spicer, where he was confirmed at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. He graduated from New London-Spicer High School in 1978.

Following high school, Russell enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served from 1979 to 1982. He later joined the Army National Guard and was deployed to Afghanistan.

Russell was united in marriage to Cynthia Round in 1984. They were blessed with a son, Daniel. They later divorced.

Russell began working for Duane Forkrud, where he helped maintain floors, windows, and air ducts. He later worked in advertising for Liberty Tax, where he was employed for 17 years.

On November 3, 2005, Russell was united in marriage to Lidia by Pastor H. Paul McCullough in Minneapolis.

Russell enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, visiting with people, tinkering around his home, listening to music, and spending time around a bonfire.

He is survived by his wife, Lidia; son, Daniel Lee Newville; step-children: Daniel (Sheri) Villarreal, Sonia Villarreal, Sondra “Jai” Villarreal, Mari Bergman; siblings: Randall Newville, Robin (Ricky) Lien and Ryan (Gail) Newville; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Richard Newville.
