Sally, the daughter of Henry and Nellie (Soderquist) Peterson, was born on April 9, 1938, in Des Moines, IA. She spent her childhood in Des Moines and was a proud East High Scarlet, graduating in 1956.
After graduation, Sally attended Iowa State University where she majored in Child Development. She cultivated lifelong friendships as a Kappa Alpha Theta and ISU cheerleader and met a Cyclone football player and the love of her life, Pete Goeser.
Sally and Pete were married on June 30, 1961, in Des Moines, IA and the couple lived in Kansas City where their son Greg was born, followed by Ames and the birth of Kristin, their daughter. After living in Des Moines, the family moved to Willmar, MN in 1971. Sally spent many years as a teacher and director of the All Day Pre-School. Sally was also very active in many local clubs, activities and the United Methodist Church.
Sally cherished spending time with her grandchildren and attended all their major life events. After Pete passed away in 2004, Sally learned to navigate life on her own, but she held firmly to her love for him until her final days.
Sally loved adventure and travel, especially the beach. With endless energy, she never slowed down but always had time for a friend.
Sally will be deeply missed by her family, which includes her son Greg Goeser of Willmar, MN; Jalaine Goeser; and their children, Samantha and Alexis; her daughter Kristin (Chad) Jaycox of Venice, FL; and their children, Allison (Bennett), Stephanie, and Tyler. Sally is preceded in death by her husband, Pete; her parents; and her brother, Bob Kirk Peterson.
