Sandra Abell, 75, of Willmar, died Wednesday, March 26, at CentraCare Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 31, at Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Pennock, with visitation one hour prior at the church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home in Willmar, www.hafh.org.
Sandra Yvonne Abell was born on July 21, 1949, in Willmar, Minnesota, to Dave and Caroline (Davidson) Noor. She grew up north of Pennock, attended country school, and later graduated from Kerkhoven High School in 1967. She continued her education at Willmar Vo-Tech.
On March 31, 1971, Sandra married Jerry Abell, and together they welcomed a daughter, Kelly. The couple lived in Oregon for a few years before settling in Kerkhoven in 1975. In 1991, they moved to Willmar. Sandra worked as a custodian at Kerkhoven Lutheran Church and the Kerkhoven Civic Center before spending 18 years at the Kandiyohi County License Bureau, retiring in May 2007.
A lifelong member of Mamrelund Lutheran Church, Sandra had a deep love for nature. She enjoyed flower gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels, and never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune. Above all, she cherished time with her family and treasured every visit with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sandra is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Danny) Walton of Hancock; four grandchildren, Zackary (Joyce) Walstad, Aria (Andrew) Evink, Joseph (Julia) Stodolski, and Dallas Walton; and eight great-grandchildren, Gracynn Walstad, Hudson Walstad, Eva Walstad, Freyja Walstad, Miley Dettwiler, Jackson Evink, Jett Evink, and Jolee Stodolski. She is also survived by her brother, Howard Noor, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry, in 2003; two brothers, David Noor and Jim Noor; and her sister, Shirley Nelson.
