Sandra Kelling

Sandra Kelling, 76, of New London, died Sunday, December 20, 2020, at GlenOaks Care Center in New London.  Regardless of her strong Finnish heritage, Sandra was never a fan of cold winters in Minnesota. Therefore, a graveside service at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls will be held in the spring to celebrate her memorable life. 

Sandra was born on February 24, 1944,  to Charl and Theodora (Roes) Wick in Moorhead as the oldest of 4 children. She graduated from Spring Lake Park High School. It was in Soderville, working at the Arden Hills Armory where she met her husband, Dale. They married on October 4, 1969 and moved to Pillager shortly thereafter.  In 1991, the family moved to New London where Sandra pursued a career outside the home, she was so very fond of the co-workers and residents she met while working at GlenOaks. 

Sandras greatest joy was family.  She was so very proud of her four children and cherished her grandchildren. Her talents involved tending to her tremendous vegetable garden, embroidery, and completing the trickiest jigsaw puzzle you could find.  She also enjoyed cheering for the hometown Wildcats, especially girls basketball. She was devout in her Catholic faith and enjoyed numerous bible study groups. Sandra’s wit, spunk, and never give up attitude will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.  

Sandra will join her husband Dale, who is waiting with open arms for her in heaven. She is survived by her four children: Sue (Will), Wayne (Heather), Ann (Mike), Mary (Chris) and her seven grandchildren: Garrett, Sean, Allie, Nathan, Andrew, Kassandra, and Hadley.
