Sharon D King

Sharon D. King, 84, of Willmar, died Tuesday, June 10th at Bethesda Grand in Willmar. A rosary will be prayed at 1:00 pm, Monday June 16th at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kenmare, ND. Visitation will start at 1:30 pm at the church, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at St. Anthony Cemetery in Donnybrook, ND. Sharon “Dib” King of Willmar, MN died peacefully on June 10th, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Sharon was born on April 9th, 1941 in Kenmare, ND and raised in Coulee, ND; the daughter of George and Lillian (Wallace) Frank. Sharon graduated Valedictorian of Donnybrook High School in 1959. She was united in marriage to Robert King on June 30th, 1959 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Donnybrook, ND. They knew it was love at first sight as it didn’t take many dates before they got married and started a family.

For many years Sharon was the owner and operator of Ma King’s in Kenmare, ND. Later in life, she became a Registered Nurse and was employed at the State Hospital in Willmar, MN until her retirement. Sharon was always reading, learning, and was almost impossible to beat in a game of Scrabble.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert of Willmar; sister, Cathy Lawson of Minot, ND; children: Anna Marie of Willmar, Anita (Jerry) Essler of Kenmare, AJ (Kristi) King of Sandia, TX, Allison (Brian) Dooley of Hastings; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony King, her sisters, and her parents.
