Sherilyn M. Zimmer

Sherilyn M. Zimmer, 72, of Hawick, died Saturday September 25, 2021 at GlenOaks Care Center in New London.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Spicer.  Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5-8 Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home in New London and for one hour prior to the service at church.                                          

Sherilyn Marie Zimmer was born on May 7, 1949 in St. Paul, the daughter of Shirly and Betty Ann (O’Connor) Houle.  She grew-up in St. Paul where she attended St. Pascal’s Elementary and Harding High School, graduating in 1967.  On September 6, 1969, Sherilyn was united in marriage to Henry Zimmer.  This union was blessed with three sons.  They made their home in Fridley where she worked as a clerk for UPS for 36 years, retiring in 2014.  They moved to Hawick in retirement.   

Sherilyn was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes and former member of Immaculate Conception, where she volunteered in the lunch room and for Minnesota Concerned Citizens for Life.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, bowling, playing cards and board games.  She was a wonderful cook, caregiver and friend. 

Sherilyn is survived by her husband, Henry of 52 years, sons, John (Janete) Zimmer, Jason Zimmer (fiancé, Kari Houle) and Jeremy Zimmer; 6 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and siblings, Marilyn (Sonny) Hansen, Tim (Linda) Houle and Irene (Scott) Polzin.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
