Sherri Jean Menk, 55, of Willmar, died Saturday, November 9th at the St. Cloud Hospital. Her memorial service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, November 14th at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be 5-7:00 pm, Wednesday and one hour prior to the service all at the funeral home. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home in Willmar. www.hafh.org
Sherri Jean (Blokzyl) Menk was born June 15, 1969, to Dwayne and Ardys (McLane) Blokzyl in Willmar. She was baptized and confirmed at United Methodist Church. Sherri grew up in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1987.
Throughout her life, Sherri worked in several roles, including Little Dukes, Presbyterian Family Foundation, and most recently as a caregiver at Bethesda. She truly loved her work as a caregiver, always willing to go above and beyond to help others.
Sherri was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Elks, and Eagles. She enjoyed a variety of activities, including playing bingo, visiting casinos, taking scenic car rides, dining out, and traveling to Florida. She had a special fondness for animals, especially her beloved grand-dogs.
Sherri is survived by her children: Samantha Menk (and special friend, Chris Garberich) of Olivia, and Justin (Nicole) Menk of Pennock; her siblings: Roger (Robin) Blokzyl of Spicer, Darwin Blokzyl of Willmar, Bryan (Sabrina) Blokzyl of Atwater, Darla (Joe) Shimota of Willmar, Sheila Johnson of Naples, FL, and Jerry (Sheila) Blokzyl of Raymond.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her special friend, Duane Slaughter; and her sister, Robin Blokzyl.
Sherri will be remembered for her kind heart, her ever-present smile, and her outgoing personality. She brought joy to those around her and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
