Stanley “Stan” John Barker, age 68, of Benson, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, surrounded by his beloved children.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar, MN. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor Stan’s life and legacy.
Stan was born on April 23, 1957, to Kenneth and Mae Barker in Redwood Falls. He grew up and attended school in Willmar. He married Beverly Bredeson in 1974 and two children, Aaron and Michelle, were born to their marriage. He later married Pamela Ford and three children: Crystal, Stephanie and Beau, were born to their marriage.
Stan lived a life marked by hard work, versatility, and devotion to family. Over the years, he wore many hats—working as a truck driver, silo builder, correction officer, and entrepreneur. He proudly owned and operated Speedy’s Lawn Service until his retirement, though retirement never slowed him down. Stan could always be found working on something—whether it was his home, his tools, or his favorite toys.
Family was the cornerstone of Stan’s life. He never missed a game, a gathering, or a chance to be with those he loved. His presence was a constant source of strength and joy to his family and friends.
Stan is survived by his mother, Mae Barker; sisters, Sue (Dan) Wiegmen and Joyce Engstrom; children, Aaron (Chris) Barker, Michelle (Derrick) Johnson, Crystal (Josh) Schjenken, Stephanie (Dave) Schjenken, and Beau (Cris) Barker; twelve grandchildren, Ashley (Joseph), Brady (Astrid), Jordon, Jenna, Mikaili, Mason, Courtney, Levi, Logan, Hannah, Norah and Cole; three great-grandchildren, Margaret, Jonathan and Andrew; and another great-grandson on the way. He is also survived by his ex-wives, Beverly Kallevig and Pamela Barker. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Barker, and his brother-in-law, Dick Engstrom.
Stan will be remembered for his tireless spirit, his love for family, and the many lives he touched through his work and kindness.
