Stephen Lee “Iver” Iverson was born May 7, 1954, to William Jr. and Frances (Meyer) Iverson in Olivia. He grew up in Willmar and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School until the 8th grade and graduated from the Willmar High School in 1972. Steve continued his education at Willmar Community College where he earned an Associate of Arts Degree, attended Iowa State University and later received a Business Administration degree from Southwest State University.

On August 29, 1987, Steve was united in marriage to Peggy Doering at Cross of Calvary Lutheran Church in Olivia. To this union two children were born: Carlee and Joseph.

They made their home in Willmar, where Steve worked at Honda Willmar, Stacy’s Nursery, Iverson Irrigation, selling Christmas trees and flowers at his Tree Garden Nursery, and for Kandiyohi County as a corrections officer.

Steve was very passionate about hunting and fishing. He looked forward to yearly fishing trips to Minaki, Ontario, Lake of the Woods, Campers Paradise in Nevis, and deer hunting with his family and friends at the Chippewa River Ranch. He loved traveling and reading a good book with a beautiful view, preferably on a cruise ship next to his wife. He loved everything Disney and seeing his children and grandchildren’s faces light up during his many magical trips to Disney World. Steve enjoyed spending time at the family cabin he built on Diamond Lake and teaching his grandchildren to fish. Out of all his life accomplishments, being a grandpa was by far his favorite.

He was a member of many community organizations over the years, some of which are Little Crow Anglers, Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever.

Steve is survived by his wife, Peggy of Willmar; children: Carlee (Lee) Ashburn of Clara City, and Joseph (Taylor) Iverson of Willmar; grandchildren: Mason, Connor, Greta, Olivia, and Hannah Ashburn, and Lincoln and Elliott Iverson. He is also survived by his siblings: Barb (George) Iverson-Roesler of St. Paul and Bill (Pam Mayer) Iverson of Willmar; as well as other family and friends.
