Thomas Arthur Gardner

Thomas "Thom" Gardner, 78, of Glenwood, died Tuesday, July 8, at Glenwood Retirement Village.

 A private service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Homes, www.hafh.org.

Thomas "Thom" Arthur Gardner was born June 17, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of Arthur and Alma (Johnson) Gardner.  He enjoyed living in many places growing up, moving with his father and stepmother, Pat, from Eatontown, New Jersey to many locations in the US and abroad  eventually graduating from high school in Arizona in 1970.    He served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1973. 

On December 6, 1975, he married LaVonne Hegg at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  They made their home in Ft. Lauderdale, where Thomas worked in marine electronics and engine repair for Sun Power Diesel.  They later moved to Dania, Florida and finally made their home in Glenwood, Minnesota.  

Thomas is survived by two sisters, Lisa and Laura, both of Florida; his nephews: David and Jason; and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother: Pat; his wife: LaVonne “Voni” in 2021; three brothers: Michael, Gary and Patrick; and a sister: Linda.
