Timothy Lee Strong, 70, formerly of Minneapolis, died Monday, May 19th at Belgrade Nursing Home. His celebration of life will be at 4:00 pm, Friday, July 18th at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to his service. Timothy Lee Strong was born January 2, 1955, to Donald and Patricia (Nelson) Strong in Willmar. He attended church at Willmar Assembly of God where he was dedicated by his parents as a child. Tim grew up on the family farm near Spicer, where at a young age he developed a strong work ethic. He helped on the turkey farm in all aspects, raising them from poults. During this time, he attended New London Elementary and later graduated from Willmar High School in 1973. Tim enjoyed Golden Gloves Boxing, and spending as much time as he could at his grandparents’ home on Green Lake. He loved fishing and being on the lake. Tim moved to Minneapolis where he began working at Central Mailing, then Dow Chemical and eventually for the Packaging Corporation of America, where he worked for many years. Tim had a love for music and had a large collection of vinyl records. He also enjoyed going to the Boundary Waters and watching the Minnesota Vikings.
Tim is survived by his daughter, Amanda Wilkins and granddaughter, Olivia Wikins; mother, Patricia Strong; siblings: Mark Strong, Sandy Sanderson and Janelle (Curt) Sieve; stepbrother, Steven (Chris) Kurtzbein and stepsister, Lynette (Gene) Struck.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald; and brothers-in-law, Lee Sanderson and Kevin Hokom.
