Tyler Strand, 35, of New London, died Saturday, January 25 at St. Cloud Hospital. His visitation will be 5-7:00 pm, Friday, February 7 at Johnson Funeral Home in New London. A prayer service will begin at 6:45. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home in New London. www.hafh.org
Tyler Nathan Strand was born on September 7, 1989, in Rochester to Elaine Strand. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton, MN, and later, his family moved to the Willmar area when he was two. Tyler attended KMS for elementary and ACGC for high school, he took classes for his GED through NLS, eventually earning his GED through Ridgewater College. He worked a variety of jobs and kept himself busy throughout his life. Tyler eventually moved to St. Cloud, where he was blessed with two children, Harrison and Everleigh Strand. He was extremely proud of his children. He and his children recently returned to the New London area.
Tyler was known for his creativity and artistic talents. He enjoyed painting, drawing, writing, woodworking, and was a fan of the Timberwolves, and Vikings, and enjoyed playing basketball.
Tyler was known as “Phattie” to many close friends.
Tyler is survived by his mother, Elaine (Russ) Scott; his children, Harrison and Everleigh; his second family; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends who considered him like a brother.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Illa Strand of Clinton, and his special dad, Richard Fader.
Tyler was so loved and will be missed by many. Blessed be his memory.
