Vicki Constans Obituary

Vicki Constans, 72, of Willmar, died Sunday September 7th at Sanford Hospice House in Fargo surrounded by her family, after a brief battle with cancer. Her funeral will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 19th at Assembly of God in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Vicki was born May 21, 1953, in Willmar, the daughter of Edwin and Irene (Negen) Bonnema. She grew up in Prinsburg and graduated from Central Minnesota Christian School in 1971. She continued her education to become a Dental Assistant in Minneapolis. In 1976 she began working as a dental assistant for Dr. Wang until his retirement in 2004. She then began working at Copperleaf Senior Living as an aide for several years. Vicki continued her profession setting up and cleaning  dental offices for Central Minnesota Pediatric Dentists and Great River Endodontics until the time of her illness in July, 2025.

On September 15, 1979, she was united in marriage to David Constans at First Presbyterian Church in Willmar. They were blessed with three children, Rich, Elias, and Tori. One of Vicki’s favorite roles in life was grandma, and her grandchildren were the light of her life. Besides her grandchildren, her greatest joys included the Lord, her kitties, watching hockey, coffee with friends, gardening, watching wildlife in her backyard, and spending time with family.

Vicki is survived by her husband, David; children, Rich (Kristen) Constans of Willmar, and Tori (Sam) Lindemeier of Horace, ND, and four grandchildren, Avery, Aspyn, Aisley, and Wyatt Lindemeier. Also, surviving are her siblings, Lori (Nathan) Herrboldt of Willmar and Randy (Kathy) Bonnema of San Antonio , TX, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her son, Elias, on September 21, 2024; her parents, Edwin and Irene Bonnema, and her siblings, Wally and Sandy Bonnema.

Vicki had the most compassionate and caring heart, and was always willing to help others; whether it was volunteering, donating to charities, caring for dozens of foster children over the years, or lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Her life, spirit, and personality will be forever cherished.
