Wayne Arndt, 74, of Willmar, died Friday, May 29 at his home in Willmar. His memorial service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 3 at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.
Wayne Eugene Arndt was born July 15, 1951, to Lowell and Verna (Oshel) Arndt in Alva, Oklahoma. He attended elementary school in Pierre and White River, South Dakota, before moving to Minnesota, where he graduated from Olivia High School in 1969. After high school, Wayne worked a variety of jobs and lived in several Minnesota communities before eventually settling in Willmar.
Wayne met the love of his life, his wife, Donna Hanson in Willmar and they were married on September 24th 1994. Together they built a loving home and enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren, and extended family.
Wayne worked at Jennie-O for 27 years as a Production Coordinator, retiring in 2014. He took pride in his work, valued the friendships he made throughout his career, and was known for his strong work ethic.
Wayne enjoyed fishing, camping, watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins, and watching the Food Network. He also loved playing Santa during the holiday season and bringing joy to others. Most of all, Wayne cherished time with his family and took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Donna Arndt; children: Amber (Troy Hernandez) Arndt, Elizabeth (Tony) Wake, Heidi (Chad) Nurnberg, Heath Shaffer, Holly (Jared Vlaminck) Shaffer, and Heather (Nathan) Rue; 21 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren with one on the way. He is further survived by his siblings: Ronda Freiborg, Marlena (Charles) Orndorff, and Keith (Cindy) Arndt; and many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Verna Arndt; and brother-in-law, Gary Freiborg.
