William Henry “Red” Newville was born on July 15, 1938, in Fairmont to Charles and Katherine (O’Conner) Newville. He grew up in Fairmont and attended Fairmont High School. On June 1, 1957, he married Doris Sunken in Blue Earth. They made their home in Fairmont, where Red worked for 7UP Bottling, did upholstery work, and was involved in construction. In 1972, they moved to Spicer and purchased a resort on Henderson Lake. Alongside running the resort, Red continued working in construction and relocated his upholstery business to their home, staying active in his trade well into retirement. He and Doris shared 36 years of marriage before her passing on November 16, 1993. For 25 years, his loyal companion, Terra Lexo, was by his side until her passing in January 2021.

Red was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes, Ducks Unlimited, the Eagles Club, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also found fulfillment in volunteering at the Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center, assisting with the limited-ability hunt.

Red is survived by his children, Randall Newville of New London, Russel (Liddia) Newville of Willmar, Robin (Rick) Lien of Texas, and Ryan (Gail) Newville of Spicer; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and siblings, Virginia (David) Sukalski, Tom (Peggy) Newville, and Mike Newville.
