Funeral Director/Owner/President
Nathan Streed was raised in Ortonville, MN, attended Willmar Community College and graduated from the University of Minnesota. He joined our staff in 1993 as a Funeral Director/Mortician and became a partner in June of 1998.
Nathan and his wife, Wendy, who works for Willmar Public Schools, live in Willmar and have five sons. Isaiah (Megan), Zechariah, Noah, Kaden and Jacob. He is a member of Church of St. Mary where he is a Eucharistic Minister, does A/V, and serves on the Parish Council ann Finance Committee. He also serves as the Sexton of the Area Faith Community Catholic Cemeteries of St. Mary's (Willmar), St. Patrick's (Kandiyohi), Our Lady of Lakes (Spicer), Sacred Heart (Raymond) and St. Anthony (Regal). He is an active member of the community having served or is currently serving on the following boards: Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, Public Policy Committee, United Way of Kandiyohi County, Rice Hospice, City of Willmar Zoning Appeals, 100 Yard Club, Willmar Take Down Club and Willmar Public Schools Board of Education and Bethesda Board and Hawk Creek Country Club.
Nathan enjoys
attending sporting events and playing golf at Hawk Creek in Raymond. He
is committed to helping and caring for the families wishes to create a
meaningful service of remembrance.

Funeral Director/Owner/Vice President
Steve Maher grew up in Benson and is a 1994 graduate of the University of Minnesota. He joined our staff in June of 2000 as a Funeral Director/Mortician and mainly serves the Johnson Funeral Home in New London, Belgrade and Paynesville. Steve became a partner in the funeral home in June of 2004.
He and his wife, Kristy, a school counselor at New London-Spicer High School, live in Spicer with their daughter, Emily. Their daughter, Mackenzie lives in Colorado and their son, Maxwell is in college. Steve is a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Church and the New London Lions Club.
He enjoys the outdoors, hunting, golfing, and spending time with his family. Steve's experience in funeral service started in high school when he began working for the funeral home in his hometown of Benson. "I was attracted to the opportunity of serving people. I find it very rewarding and challenging to help guide and care for people as they create a meaningful tribute for their loved one. I can't imagine anything more rewarding than serving people at one of the most difficult times in life."

Funeral Director
Ryan grew up in Willmar and is a 2008 graduate of Willmar Senior High, a 2010 graduate of Ridgewater Community College and a 2013 graduate of the University of Minnesota.
He joined Harvey Anderson and Johnson Funeral Homes as a director in 2014 and primarily serve families from Willmar, Clara City and Kerkhoven but will assist as needed with the Johnson Funeral Homes. While in college, he worked as a Directors Assistant at Harvey Anderson and Johnson Funeral Home and also at Morris Nilsen Chapel in Richfield, MN.
Ryan is married to Kristi (Elkjer), who works at Life Science Innovations, and they live in Willmar with their son, Landon. They are a members of Refuge Church, where her family has gone for many years. He is a member of the Next organization in Willmar and also is an ambassador for the Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and West Central Ducks Unlimited.
In my spare time, I enjoy football, basketball, golf, hunting and spending time with my family.

Funeral Director
Justin is a native of Willmar and a graduate of Willmar High School. He attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, graduating with a degree in biochemistry, and the University of Minnesota, graduating with a degree in Mortuary Science. Justin worked as a funeral director in the Twin Cities before returning to the Willmar area in 2003. He is a member of the School Board for Willmar Public Schools, Vice Chair of the Willmar Civic Scholarship Association, and President of the Willmar Sertoma Club. He has also served on the Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center Board and the Willmar Hockey Association Board. Justin is an active member of Vinje Lutheran Church, where he has served on the church council, the nominating committee and as a lector and an usher. Justin lives in Willmar with his wife, Sara and their two children, Colin and Meryl. In his spare time, Justin enjoys watching his children’s activities, playing hockey and spending time with family and friends.

Funeral Director/Prearrangement Specialist
Courtney grew up near Melrose and graduated from Melrose
High School in 2011. She attended St. Catherine University in St. Paul and
transferred to the University of Minnesota, graduating in 2016.
Courtney joined Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Homes in January 2023. She is working as a Licensed Funeral Director and Preplanning Specialist. Before joining our team, Courtney served as a Funeral Assistant during college and then worked as a Licensed Funeral Director in Melrose and Sauk Centre after graduation.
Courtney is currently living in Melrose with her husband,
Jacob, and two daughters, Mia and Madison. She mainly serves the Johnson Funeral
Home locations, but will also assist the Harvey Anderson Funeral Homes.

Office Manager
Chris Martins joined our staff in 1993 as office manager. She is a native of Willmar and a graduate of Willmar Area Vocational Technical Institute. Chris and her husband Ray, a corrections officer for Kandiyohi County, live in Willmar and have two grown children, Abby and Ben. She is a member of Vinje Lutheran Church. She enjoys watching baseball, tennis and movies, reading and spending time with family and friends.
As office manager, Chris is responsible for the filing of legal documents, notifying Social Security, preparing and filing insurance claims, accounts receivable/accounts payable and payroll, as well as assisting the directors in coordinating obituary notices and service information. It is estimated that there are approximately 50 details that must be attended to when a death occurs. We help complete as many of these details as possible to help lessen the burden on our families. Assistant
Deborah is a native of Willmar, and a graduate of Willmar High School, Class of 1988. Following high school, she worked as an interior designer in Minneapolis, before returning to Willmar in 2009 with her two daughters, Jaylynn and Anna Mae. She lives in Spicer, and is engaged to Rick Rolffs, a retired Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Deputy. Deborah joined Harvey Anderson – Johnson Funeral Homes in 2009.
She is a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and Spicer Lion’s Club.
Deborah is an assistant who helps with funerals, visitations and as a hostess for our reception area. She became interested in funeral service after the loss of her older brother, Jay, at a young age and also other family members. Deborah feels honored to work with families and help them through the loss of their loved ones.
She also owns a landscaping business which she enjoys and finds therapeutic. She enjoys the outdoors, entertaining friends, and spending time at the family cabin on Green Lake.
Assistants
Rick and Brenda Swenson retired in
2007 and began working for the funeral home shortly thereafter. Rick
worked as the New London-Spicer Middle School Principal for 29 years and Brenda
at ACMC for 27 years. They have 2 children and 3 granddaughters.
Their son and his family have lived abroad for 10 years and are currently in
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and their daughter and her family live in South St
Paul. In their spare time they participate in activities at Peace
Lutheran Church in New London. Rick plays pickleball 5 times a week and Brenda
is close behind with 2 times a week.
Funeral Assistant
Jerald
Quarfot was raised in the Paynesville, MN area and graduated from Paynesville
High School in 1984. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and
served his country for 20 years.
Jerald
lives in Hawick, has four children, Courtney, Lauren, Emily and Jacob and six
grandchildren, all of which live out of state. During his time in the Air Force
he had two overseas assignments and state side assignments in the desert
southwest. He is a veteran of Operation Just Cause and the Persian Gulf War and
was awarded the Southwest Asia Service Medal with three campaign stars.
He
is the First Vice Commander of the Paynesville American Legion and the Post Gambling Manager. He is a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and
the Disabled American Veterans. He also is a member of St Louis Catholic Church in
Paynesville and services as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, confirmation
teacher and is on the Christ Our Hope Area Catholic Community Board for the parish. He recently was elected to serve on school board for the Paynesville Area Schools.
For
relaxation he enjoys studying history, wood working and HO model railroading.
